About

First of all, a big hello and welcome to you all, and thanks for checking out my humble blog!

Chan-Tells… is a blog set up in 2019 and run by me, and I am hoping to keep this blog as an open space area to share and discuss my experiences and journeys with you as an aspiring conservationist. The main focus of the blog will be on my marine adventures, particularly at the moment, there is a lot of content of those I had with the Sea Watch Foundation where I recently interned for 8 weeks.

The aim of Chan-Tells is that it will not only help to keep the folks at home updated while I am off on my next adventure, but it will also provide (what I hope will be) inspiration, advice and ideas for others out there that may be on the same journey, whether at the start, end, or somewhere in between.

It is still a work in progress as it is relatively new, but have a look around, feel free contact me via the box on the contact page with anything more you want to know, content you would like me to post or general questions you may have!

Meet Chan: The blog author

My name is Chantelle, hence the blog name! I’m in my late twenties and from the East Midlands of the UK, with a First Class degree in both FdSc Animal Science and BSc Animal Biology, although I am just about to complete my masters degree in Endangered Species Recovery and Conservation.

I studied all three of these degrees at Nottingham Trent University, Brackenhurst campus, which is in the most beautiful rural town of Southwell (picture old-time postcards, minsters, and quaint little tea shops). The experiences gained here both educational and extra-curricular voluntary activities have really helped guide me on to the path I am currently on now.

When not studying, working or keeping on top of blog posts, I love travelling to new places, reading new books and research on marine species and watching documentaries such as blue planet, dynasties and basically anything by David Attenborough. There is a million and one other random titbits I could share but I am sure you will find out more as my blog posts continue. For now, here’s some lists of some of my favourite things!
